Swedish kings and queens (in English 🇬🇧)
The history of Sweden is long. As far back as in the 5th century, there might have been kings that ruled over larger portions of what later became Sweden, but most historians view these as kings of legends instead of historical people due to the lack of evidence of their existance. From around year 970, the information available becomes clearer and it's possible to view Sweden as a united country with one king, even though there are some later variations as well with the Kalmar Union, the union with Norway, etc. The following is a list of the kings and queens that have ruled over Sweden ever since year 970:
